Tiny Dance

Casson & Friends brought their dance moves to Fenland and West Suffolk, inspiring choreography moves with creative people in their creative places.

Location:

March, Wisbech, Newmarket and Brandon

Dates:

Summer 2021

Across Summer 2021, MarketPlace teamed up with Casson and Friends to make a Tiny Dance, short dance films inspired by conversations with the communities in Fenland and Forest Heath.

Visiting market towns around Fenland and West Suffolk (Forest Heath) residents told the dancers what they love about where they live so they could create a dance move to add to their Tiny Dance!

Casson and Friends are a record-breaking dance theatre company that makes work that is accessible, interactive and joyful. The company believes in people powered performance – that dances should be made with the help of the public and communities they engage.

Tiny Dances are short dance films based entirely on conversations, stories and anecdotes shared from the people of our unique rural landscape. Choreographer Tim and his team of dancers will use the information shared to create a unique dance completely inspired by the District. This dance will be filmed on location and edited into a beautiful dance film created especially for the area with the help of the local community.

The final dances are now in the process of being made – watch this space!
