My name is Xidus Pain I am an Award winning Music Practitioner, Rap Artist & Sound engineer.
I was mentored by the Legendary SugarHill Gang and Grandmaster Melle Mel and I have performed on stage alongside them. I have worked with countless artist & music producers from all over the world & get regular air play on BBC Radio, Heart FM , UCB (United Christian Broadcast), Suspect Packages Radio show, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Itch FM and many other stations.
I specialize in the art of freestyle Rap which is a form of improvised rap on the spot and including my surroundings. I have been featured Freestyling on various occasions on BBC Radio for events such as the Queens Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics & the World Cup. I have been featured on the Breakfast show, BBC Chat Rooms, BBC introducing and BBC6 Music on Tony Robinson’s show where I was tipped to be an artist to look out for.
I will be delivering a Lyric Writing workshop which is open for people at different levels.
I have a passion for helping people to express themselves through music whilst learning and having fun.
My workshops include fun exercises, inclusive learning, a performance from myself and anyone who would like to share their work with the group.
In the workshop we will cover:
- Ways of starting songs
- Explore Structure for song writing & finding inspiration
- Ways of combating Writers block
- Building confidence
- Researching differing types of song Concepts
- Learning various musical term
- Work towards completing a song

Between 12 and 22 of April the Word Up! Festival will be taking over the town of March! Join in to get creative with storytelling in all it’s forms.
