  • Grants for the Arts: Workshop

    This workshop aims to support artists, arts organisations and other institutions planning arts projects to submit excellent applications to Arts Council England’s Grants for the arts programme. The session will give participants a good understanding of the programme, covering eligibility requirements, completing the application form and the assessment criteria. The format of the workshop allows plenty of time for discussion and questions.

  • Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds Festival comes to Mildenhall

    Following the successful pilot of 2015, Once Upon a Festival 2016 by Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is now coming to Mildenhall with a Guardian acclaimed performance for the whole family.

    The Lost Story, an exciting and innovative family show formed in the round with underscored and recognizable tracks from the 1970s, comes to Mildenhall. This is a story about fitting in and standing out, making new friends and treasuring old ones and hearing voices from the past that have words of wisdom for today.

  • Bee Crafty Marquee - Market Place

    The Bee Crafty Marquee is part of the annual St.Mary’s Church Exhibition. This year it will run over 3 days and will offer a variety of activities for the whole community to enjoy. Explore the Light Lab on Friday, 6 May, and the Imagination Studio on Saturday, 7 May.

  • The Imagination Studio in Whittlesey

    Getting ready for the annual Art Exhibition in St.Mary’s Church during the first weekend of May.  Lots of crafts, activities, and exciting arts experiences will be waiting for you. Explore the Light Lab on Friday, 6 May, enjoy the Imagination Studio, and come back to the Bee Crafty Marquee on Sunday, 8 May.

    Have a peak into our Imagination Studio this Saturday, where Jenny Johnson (Whittlesey) and Luke Payn (Peterborough) will be exploring the idea of ‘motion’ and working with lights, characters and movement.

    Following our conversations back in the summer about the need for professional development opportunities in marketing the arts events and projects in your areas, as part of the Market Place project we have put together a workshop on “Working with Press”. The workshop will give an overview of the general principles of working with mass media to develop a profile of the arts organization, promote events and projects, and increase attendance.

    Wisbech schools are putting together a five year strategy to focus on improving the reading levels in all Wisbech schools and the surrounding area (of which there is one secondary and 16 Primary Schools). We supported this festival, including a Discover Arts Award for all participating children on the Friday (schools day), face painting, drama workshops and more.

  • Literary Festival in Angles Theatre

    We were delighted to support Angles Theatre with their first Literary Festival. Readings, workshops, new writers – all for you in Wisbech. The Festival celebrated literature of all types and featured a range of speakers and workshops from local authors such as Claire Upton, Simon Crow, Jon Lawrence and Darren Upton and poets including Fenland Poet Laureate Jonathan Totman, Mary Livingstone, Elaine Ewart and Poppy Kleiser.

    This time we decided to run an art trail in the streets of Newmarket. Our buskers were hidden in the streets of this wonderful market town on a busy Saturday morning. Adventerous families took our trail maps and embarked on this journey. While children were excited to find buskers and get the stamps in order to win the prize, their parents could enjoy the sounds of live music. Have a look at our happy winners!

  • Lark in the Park

    Live music, workshops and lots of fun for everyone! Music Arts Project put on an amazing Vocal Workshop with Carl Chapman. The workshop included Vocal Warm Up – general intro to warming up the voice before singing, Group Singing – sing a well-known song together then split into parts (lyrics sheets will be provided), and finally, Accapella Mash Up.
