Join us for a FREE oral history training session for the Talkin Bout My Generation project. Are you interested in local history and collecting musical memories? The Talkin Bout My Generation team are looking for volunteers to gather teen memories and encourage local residents to tell their stories and dig out memorabilia. From stimulating memories though music, social media, photographs and pop-up memory cafes to training up young oral historians to interview their parents and grandparents, Hilary and Jess will create a Talking Bout My Generation archive. This is your chance to get involved with a unique and exciting project!
Where: Wisbech and Fenland Museum, Museum Square, Wisbech PE13 1ES
When: Saturday 10 March, 11am-1pm
Using sample interviews recorded since workshop one, Dr Shelley Lockwood will instruct the group in summarising the recording. Please bring your own headphones. Refreshments will be provided. Booking is essential as numbers are limited: please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. As well as conducting personal interviews the trained volunteers will be invited to a series of local memory cafes to help gather the stories shared and VIP guests at our Summer Celebratory Events.
