Chatteris Midsummer Festival 2019: #Throwback 100 Years of Music and Fashion

This year's festival theme will be #Throwback - 100 years of Music and Fashion.

The parade will start at Church Lane 11:00am on Saturday.

Once again we have many local groups and organisations participating and it is great to see how well Chatteris is represented and supported with people of all ages joining in.

There will be plenty of exciting activities in the field and what's more visitors can look forward to music performances throughout the day leading into party in the park, which will finish at 10pm. Why not tuck into some hot food or visit some of the stalls offering delicious food and deserts to take home.

Market Place, working with Chatteris Youth Club and the Town Council are pleased to be at the Summer Festival taking young people and their families on a trip "Back to the 80's". Social historian and artist Hilary Cox Condron will be inviting festival goers to have their photo taken with two iconic 80's pop images and to leave personal thoughts and memories about the 1980's on the My 80's Generation memory wall.

Madonna, Wham, Kylie, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran... who was your favourite pop icon? Were you a New Waver or a New Romantic? Visit the Market Place stand and add your memory to the story.

The collected stories, photos and memorabilia will then be part of a special Chatteris Back to the 80's night in the autumn where the photos and music will be shared in a unique exhibition.

Market Place and Chatteris Youth Club are looking forward to finding out more about Chatteris folks in the 80's!
