The Creative People and Places (CPP) programme spans 21 large-scale arts-led projects stretching from Northumberland to Kent, Blackpool to Boston. Each project aims to enable local people to take the lead in choosing, creating and taking part in brilliant art experiences in the places where they live. Writer Sarah Butler was commissioned, along with photographer, Stephen King, to create a series of portraits and stories – one from each CPP project – which would demonstrate the impact of the programme on individuals across the country. You may read the blog about the project here.
We are delighted to share with you the portrait of Rachel Wood from Newmarket, who has been a member of Market Place Creative Forum since the first days, and contributed greatly to the development of the arts offer in town. Starting with Newmarket Music Festival initiative that brought tougher all music events taking place in town over July, Rachel was also actively helping with the Newmarket Music Trail in 2016 and was deeply involved with the Newmarket Kite Symphony this year.
