Imagination Studio in Whittlesey: More to Come

Imagination Studio - LightLab, photo by Harry Rutter

Last weekend we ran a series of workshops in Whittlesey giving the local community a taster of the Imagination Festival coming to town on 18-20 November 2017.

On Friday we had visits from New Road and Park Lane Schools exploring the Light Lab with our great friends at e-Luminate Cambridge Festival. Some of the kids came back in the afternoon dragging along their grandparents, parents, and siblings. It was great to see so many happy faces on the day, including those of the adults, who participated actively as well. Have a read of the blog written by e-luminate Festival and check out photos made by Harry Rutter from 20Twenty Productions CIC.

Luke Payn, Peterborough artist, amazed the schools with light projecgtions on Friday, and came back on Saturday with a VJ’ing workshop. Working alongside Jenny Johnson from Dinosaurs and Allsorts, who ran an animation workshop, they greated a true imaginarium in the centre of Whittlesey uncovering multiple local talent and teaching an array of digital skills. Check out short animation films created by Whittlesey kids on the day, and read¬†Jenny’s blog about the day.

We are thankful to everyone, who came and participated in the workshops. There will be more in the upcoming months as we are getting ready for the Imagination Festival on 18-20 November. Watch this space and be the first to find out!

Market Place is grateful to Friends of St. Mary’s Church in Whittlesey, 20TwentyProductions CIC, Whittlesey Creative Forum, Jenny Johnson, and Luke Payn for bringining this event to life in Whittlesey.

The animation workshops by Jenny Johnson were supported by Market Place Development Commissions. The second round is open now, if you want to try new ways to reach new audiences in Fenland and Forest Heath – apply by 23 May.
